Eco tourism is a travel experience, first and foremost that helps travellers come to better understanding of unique natural and cultural environments around the world. It was first introduced in the 1980’s and was developed as a creative strategy for conservation. Planners and developers are quickly finding that ecotourism can provide an economic rationale for natural resource conservation and wildlife protection policies. But if it is not properly planned it can result in the destruction of the natural environment. So this study makes an attempt to understand the importance of ecotourism development for the sustainable tourism development and also tries to understand the steps taken by Kerala government at Thekkady for the development of Ecotourism. The study used random sampling methodology and primary data was collected from 100 respondents from Thekkady. The study found that many nature friendly activities are practiced in Thekkady with the active participation of the resident community at the destination. The study detail explains the various activities promoted in Thekkady. The study found that the residents at the destination provides high level of support for the tourism activities.
The study made an attempt to identify the major problems and challenges related with production, and marketing of the handloom industrial units in South India. The analysis on the problems experienced by the handloom units helps in the identification of the specific needs of this sector, as well as orient research and policy initiatives in a more focused manner. The findings of the study along with the data already available on the handloom sector may boost the development of appropriate institutional structures that support and strengthen the industry. The challenges on engaging with these perspectives are utmost important for the development of the handloom sector. Organizational Commitment has clearly emerged as the most recognized and researched construct of the employee’s attachment or loyalty to the organization. Training makes a very important contribution to the development of the organizations human resources. In a hotel industry, Training has been linked to improve self-esteem, reduction in turnover rate, high degree of guest satisfaction, adapting new technology, improved teamwork, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. The main objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between employee benefits from training and organizational commitment of employees of hotels in Kerala. To meet this purpose, an empirical study was done; respondents are selected from star classified hotels in Kerala based on convenience sampling.
